Light fixtures or luminaire is an electrical device used to create artificial light or illumination; some typical examples of these are house lamps, chandeliers and others. A wide variety of special light fixtures are created for use in the automotive industry, aerospace, marine and medicine, though it has a wide variety of usage it is mostly used in home lighting. The position and type of light fixtures used in our homes are important for they give a certain ambience and view for each room in the house. That is why knowing different types of lighting fixtures is important for you to know what type to use in different places in the house as well as for different purposes.
Some of these types are Sconce, which provides up or down lights and are commonly used in hallways and/or as an alternative to overhead lighting. Indirect lighting is put up on ceilings for general illumination. Under-cabinet light are usually mounted below kitchen wall cabinets, Outdoor lighting, used to illuminate walkways, parking lots, roadways, building exteriors, landscape and architectural details. High bay/Low bay lighting, are typically used for general lighting for industrial buildings. Strip lights or industrial lights are often long lines of fluorescent lamps used in a warehouse or factory. Finally are surface-mounted lights or chandeliers, which are used to accentuate parts of a house or a building.
